Dear Friends,
Here is an interesting story about my son Master Mayank Sahu, who is only 3 years and 6 months old. We are a family residing in Nagpur city, having keen interest in classical/light music my son Master Mayank is doing something extraordinary, which is even difficult to imagine at this age. He has started recognizing the combinations of musical notations (that is swaras) correctly without looking at musical instruments. For example, if you play ---Ni Ma Ga Re Dha— (or any other combination of swaras) either on Harmonium/keyboard etc. then Mayank tells the notations accurately what is being played without looking at musical instruments.
Knowing and telling the combinations of musicals notations correctly takes years of tedious practice and even after that very few people (including people who have done M.A. in Music) can recognize these musical notations accurately.
Many renowned and eminent musicians of Nagpur city, some of whom are Radio artists (A.I.R.) and M.A. in music, have taken his test in different ways and are surprised to see that whatever musical combinations they played either on Harmonium/keyboard etc., Mayank was able to recognize them accurately and replied correctly. These musicians told us that they have never seen or heard such a miraculous talent in such a small boy, who is only three and half years old. They further said that it must be a World Record, as they have not seen somebody performing like Mayank in their lifetime. After this local media (TV channel Siticable of Nagpur City, Dt 11 Dec. 2000) has also given a 4 minutes news telecast of Mayank’s performance, which was recorded in the presence of two respected musicians of Nagpur.
Here in this mail, we want this group to take attention of Master Mayank Sahu, as he must get proper recognition because it is a kind of miracle (perhaps a World Record), which he is performing. But this recognition is difficult to realize in Nagpur. Hence what we are looking for is, the help of people or important references, who will help us to get, what Mayank deserves because of his peculiar and surprising abilities of recognizing musical notations in such a small age.
We will be in Mumbai on 18 December 2000 and will be staying there for a week or two.
