The idea of this thread is to collect lyrics for as many classical (carnatic) and semi-classical compositions. You can post the lyrics here or give the URLs. Then we can request TFM Admin to assemble and categorize all the songs and put them up in a separate page like the one available for film songs.

There are so many threads here that I sometimes get mixed up. I thought I had posted the answer to isai rasigai's query about Shri Jagadishvari. I think it is part of the dance drama Jaya jaya devi that Lalgudi has composed. Bombay Jayashree, being a disciple of Lalgudi, would of course sing it.

I did find a reference to the song Tirupati malai MELE (not vasa). It is by Nila Ramamurti in Yamunakalyani and it is part of a Sangeetha cassette 6CECDB 628 by Bombay Jayasree. I don't have lyrics for it. You will find it in Sruti Mani Mala by Nila Ramamurti published by Rajan & Co, Chennai 1958.

Thanks for posting the pallavi line of Nila Ramamurti's song. Sorry I don't have lyrics of Shri Jagadishvari. I do have the words of kandena but when I tried to post it I got a message that one word in the song is a prohibited word. This is the first time this has happened to me on the Forumhub.

If you remember there was a Begada kriti we discussed some time ago, Vande Namava salade, there is phrase which goes
sAsira nAmada rAmA yemba, shri sana nAmada, upadesha sati gitta, vasudeva shir purandara vithalana. I think this might be a geniune PDasa kriti inspite of BMK's shadow ( it was not a bad rendition by him, but then only a criminal would ruin Begada )
There must be a word or pattern 'filter' set up on this site. Good to know ! I intend to test it.

There is a Tharangini cassette # I 90211 by Yeshudas where the song is listed but no raga is given. The title is slightly different - "Madugal meittidum". I am not sure if it is the song you are looking for. I don't know where you are- whether you are able to get hold of the cassette and check out the lyrics.

The song "MAdu Meykkum Kanna" sung by Madurai Somu
was available in an old EP (smaller LP) where he
sang some Ragamalikas too. I have heard this while I was in India.
