IN Europe there is a Champions league for the top European football clubs-
32 divided into 8 groups of 4, The top two teams of each groups (16) go into 4 groups of 4 teams and then from that the top two in each group go into a two leg playoff for quarter/semi/ to the final.

My Discussion is- is this feasible for the cricket club/state sides in the Sub Continent to have a similar system? e.g

16 cricket teaams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka,
Bangladesh and perhaps Malaysia.

It would represent a stepping stone between domestic county/state cricket and one day internationals.
