The movie kandu konden kandu konden is the indian/tamil version of sense and senibility.
The romantic meenakshi falls in love with a fellow romantic and her very sensible sister falls for a dreamer movie director. The family falls into hard times, and is helped by a sensible older non-romantic flower fancier. The romantic lover of meenakshi abandons her in favour of another wealthy girl. Meenakshi, the romantic marries the sensible older gentleman.
